Myuna

Producer & Performer — Live

Myuna is a collaborative project where Toby serves as both producer and performer, blending live instrumentation with studio production techniques. The project sits at the intersection of several genres — elements of world music, jazz, electronic, and indie converge into something that doesn't slot neatly into any single category.

As producer, Toby shaped the sonic direction of the recordings — choosing microphone placements, building arrangements, and mixing the final tracks. As performer, he contributed saxophone, keys, and guitar parts, switching between instruments depending on what each song needed. That dual role gave him control over both the performance and the production in a way that studio-only or stage-only musicians rarely get.

Projects like Myuna reflect Toby's broader philosophy about music: genre boundaries are less important than whether the music connects. His training at Berklee and the Colburn School gave him fluency across styles, and collaborative work like this is where that range pays off most directly.
