About This Project
Episodic scoring requires a different discipline than a standalone film. The music needs to establish motifs early and develop them across episodes, giving the audience sonic anchors that build familiarity while still evolving with the story. Toby composed the score for this web series with that long-form structure in mind.
Each episode received its own set of cues — tension stingers, transitional beds, dialogue underscoring — while recurring themes tied the narrative together from one installment to the next. The palette leans on piano, subtle strings, and electronic textures that can shift from uneasy to warm depending on what the scene needs.
The format also demanded efficiency. Web series budgets and timelines are tighter than feature film, which means making strong creative decisions quickly and delivering broadcast-ready mixes without the luxury of extended post-production. Toby handled composition, arrangement, and mixing from his studio in Los Angeles.
